Amanda Mardis

Certified ISR Instructor

As a mother of two and career firefighter, I understand the paramount importance of water safety. I have had the unfortunate experience of working a few infant/child drownings in my Fire Department career, and have witnessed first hand that even good parents fall victim to this tragedy. My passion started when my own daughter was in ISR lessons and I responded to a child drowning call of a girl her same age. I will never forget that baby girl, or the mom begging us to save her. My daughter graduated from ISR, giving me a peace of mind, and  solidifying my commitment to this life-saving program. CPR-certified and deeply knowledgeable about water safety, I'm here to empower you and your child to stay safe in and around the water.

ROLL BACK TO FLOAT

From infants as young as 6 months old to older students, everyone learns this vital skill. It's not just about swimming; it's about survival. Even our youngest learners master the art of rolling onto their backs to float, ensuring they can rest and breathe until help arrives. This skill is indispensable, providing a crucial safety net for children of all ages as they navigate the waters and build upon their swimming abilities.

SWIM - FLOAT - SWIM

At ISR, we guide children through a seamless transition from land to water, teaching them essential skills for safety and enjoyment. From swimming short distances to seamlessly transitioning into a back-floating position, our program instills confidence and competence in every stroke. With ISR, children learn to navigate the water with ease, mastering the art of swimming and floating in tandem until they reach safety at the steps, poolside, or shore. These self rescue skills are paramount especially living in Florida.

"As regular beach and pool enthusiasts, water safety is paramount for our family. Thanks to Amanda, we feel confident that our children have the skills to navigate the water safely. Her expertise and dedication have been invaluable. Highly recommended!"

“I was skeptical at first as I had the typical fear that if my child cried then she would hate the water. That is not the case! In fact she loves it so much, and seeing her confidence grow has been a huge joy. ISR gave her more than just water safety skills, it also taught her to overcome tough challenges, making her confident in all things.”

John B.

“The commitment is so worth the outcome. Amanda was so patient with our son, and very knowledgeable. Knowing our son is capable of self rescue has allowed us to enjoy pool time a little more. Every child deserves and needs this.
